Quille

Privacy Policy

Effective July 24, 2026

Quille exists to hold your family’s most personal possession: its stories. This policy says exactly what we collect, where it goes, and what we will never do with it. It is written to be read.

1. What we collect

What you give us:

What we collect automatically: basic information about how the app is used — which pages you visit, how far you get — plus technical logs that help us catch and fix problems before they can interrupt your conversation. Usage information flows through PostHog (listed below).

What we deliberately do not collect: we do not run third-party advertising trackers, we do not buy data about you, and we do not collect anything from the storyteller’s device — the storyteller never needs to touch the app.

2. What your recordings are used for — and not used for

Your recordings and transcripts are processed for exactly one purpose: providing Quille to your family — live guidance during the conversation, transcription, writing your chapters and book, and printing it.

We will never:

Your stories belong to your family. We hold a limited, revocable license to process them, only for delivery of the service (see the Terms, Section 8).

3. Who processes your data for us

We don’t build everything ourselves. Here is every company that touches any part of your family’s information, and exactly what we ask them to do with it — each under data-processing terms, each receiving only what its job requires:

4. Consent to record

Before a storyteller’s first session, the app asks for the storyteller’s agreement to be recorded, out loud and on the record. We designed Quille so the person being recorded always knows and always agrees. Recording-consent law varies by state; the interviewer confirms consent as a condition of using Quille.

5. Your rights

Wherever you live, we honor these:

To exercise any of these: support@quille.co.

6. Children

Quille is for adults — purchasers must be 18+. Family stories naturally mention children; those mentions live inside your family’s private stories and are not used for anything beyond producing your book. Children do not use Quille themselves.

7. How long we keep things

8. Security

Your recordings are encrypted while they travel to us and locked away once they arrive; only the systems that need them can reach them. Passwords are never stored in readable form, and payment details never touch our servers. No system is perfect — if a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you promptly and plainly.

9. Where data lives

Our systems run in the United States. The service is offered to U.S. customers at this time.

10. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we email you before it takes effect. We will never change what Section 2 promises about your stories without your explicit consent.
